The Sensory Specialist will be responsible for leading all aspects of Anderson Sensory program including daily in/out testing, reference standard selection, keeping quality samples, and advance sensory evaluation. This individual will be responsible for maintaining all procedures and policy for the site sensory program which will also require communication and alignment with Corporate Sensory group and PTC sensory requirements. The qualified candidate will be required to review data to support release decision of finished product aligned with Nestle Sensory requirements. The individual will also be responsible for site Sensory Training and panelist qualification. This individual must be proactive in communicating with and leveraging the Nestle sensory network and the site’s application group.
PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES:
+ Manage all aspects of the sensory program including but not limited to basic and product specific training, test execution, panel assessment and performance feedback.
+ Analyze and interpret sensory data to support final release of product as well as release of raw materials.
+ Develop and deliver both basic and advanced panelists in all functions as needed.
+ Standardization, calibration, and control of sensory panelists.
+ Management of supporting procedures and documentation outlining the sensory program.
+ Management of daily operation of the sensory laboratory including inventory, sample preparation, sample management, and data management.
+ Utilize Purchasing card to acquire necessary supplies for Sensory Laboratory (e.g., sensory training supplies, coffee, cups, etc.). Manage/reconcile monthly card expenses in support of departmental budget.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Preferred
+ Experience in product development and industrialization activities.
+ BS Degree- in Sensory Science, or Food Science with strong background in Sensory.
EXPERIENCE:
Required
+ One year of sensory experience
+ The selected individual must be a non-smoker and also must not have food allergies or restrictions, as tasting will be required.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
+ Software knowledge: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
+ Sensory analysis tools
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
+ Strong organizational skills
+ Able to work well in a team environment
+ Flexible work hours, as required by the business
