Job Title:** **Data Self-Service Associate
Position Summary:
The **Data Self-Service Associate** is a position within the Corporate Strategy department at Duquesne Light Company (DLC). Corporate Strategy is an organization guided by the DLC Executive Team to identify compelling ideas within the organization that can be used to improve efficiency and drive value within DLC.
The Associate will be focused on enabling data self-service and data literacy within the company to support DLC’s on-going efforts to be a data-driven organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Analytics Center of Excellence (ACE), the Associate will be a pivotal team member in providing training and development opportunities related to data literacy and data self-service to the enterprise. The individual will also have responsibility for developing relationships and effective partnerships with teams throughout the organization to drive the best enterprise-wide outcomes.
The position will require a combination of proven experience in skills-coaching and subject matter expertise in data and analytics.
**Location:** Hybrid (see below), downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Facilitates or leads technical training on tools like Power BI, SQL, and Snowflake
+ Coaches and trains on data literacy topics like data visualization, data interpretation, AI, etc.
+ Runs Analytics Maturity Path program, capturing accessibility limitations to share with IT and themes from business teams to address with development content
+ Leads the Analytics Community as a center of practice
+ Executes the enterprise data literacy program, following strategy set by ACE leadership
+ Identifies opportunities to use data & analytics to support the company’s strategic priorities
+ Models data governance best practices
+ Promotes the expansion of data literacy and data self-service skillsets throughout the organization
+ Supports the advancement of data culture at DLH
Education and Experience Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field or equivalent experience
+ Five (5) or more years’ professional experience working with data (analytics, data governance, data quality, data stewardship, data management, forecasting, etc.)
+ Professional experience in instructional design, learning science or teaching preferred
Skills/Abilities:
+ Mastery of basic data concepts and tools (ex: data visualization, summary statistics, Power BI)
+ Experience creating dashboards in Power BI or comparable data visualization tool
+ Familiarity with advanced data tools and concepts (ex: SQL, Snowflake, regression)
+ Working knowledge of IT infrastructure, data platforms, and reporting tools
+ Experience writing documentation (ex: guidelines, business requirements, teaching references, process documentation)
+ Experience coordinating efforts across cross-functional teams and collaborating with business partners
+ Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with non-technical partners
+ Experience leading workshops and / or training sessions on technical topics
+ Ability to plan and effectively manage schedules, balance strategic long-term initiatives with emergent items, and adapt to changes in prioritization
+ Program management, including long-term planning / roadmap execution across multiple workstreams
Hybrid Work
Position follows our hybrid work model, with a minimum of two days working in the office and the remaining days working remotely. Reporting location and frequency may be subject to change based on job role and department needs.
Storm Roles
All Non-Union Employees will serve in storm roles as appropriate to their role and skillset. Please be sure to discuss storm roles with the hiring manager for this position, as duties can vary across the Company. _Examples of storm roles could include but aren't limited to duties such as: working with operations for service center support or with the communications, customer service or government affairs teams to respond to public and customer requests for information, etc._
Data Governance
Utilize data to make business decisions as appropriate for the position, support data stewardship activities and partner with IT on underlying data needs.
