Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Tool & Die Apprentice. The role involves planning, laying out, and performing all bench and machine operations to build, service, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures. You will work with surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, drill presses, and more in a stamping and roll forming environment. The facility is currently installing a new CNC automated and robotic line with several CNC Haas Mills.

Responsibilities

+ Plan and lay out work to perform bench and machine operations.

+ Build, service, repair, and maintain tools, dies, and fixtures.

+ Operate surface grinders, milling machines, lathes, and other equipment.

+ Use hoists, clamps, measuring tools, and forklifts as necessary.

+ Work with dies weighing up to 8,000 pounds.

+ Adapt to an evolving environment with new CNC automated and robotic lines.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of CNC Machinist experience with Mills and Lathes.

+ 4+ years of setup, change outs, offsets, and operation of CNC Milling machinery.

+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints with up to 100 dimensions.

+ Skilled in using precision measurement tools, such as mics, calipers, and gauges.

+ Experience with tight tolerances up to +/- .005.

+ Understanding of G & M codes for tooling and offset adjustments.

+ Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to layout, build, service, and repair tools, dies, and fixtures.

+ Experience in roll forming.

This is a Permanent position based out of Middlebury, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
