Job Title: Loader Operator

Job Description

The Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of front-end loaders and back loader trucks to support limestone extraction and processing activities. This role ensures the continuous flow of materials by loading haul trucks, feeding crushers, and managing stockpiles, while maintaining strict adherence to safety and operational standards.

Responsibilities

+ Operate front-end loaders and back loader trucks to load raw limestone into haul trucks.

+ Feed crushers and screening equipment.

+ Transport and stockpile materials within the quarry.

+ Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance, including fluid checks, tire inspections, and greasing.

+ Safely maneuver equipment in tight or uneven terrain, including loading zones and haul roads.

+ Coordinate with haul truck drivers, plant operators, and supervisors to ensure efficient material flow.

+ Monitor material quality and report contamination or oversized rocks.

+ Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work areas to prevent hazards.

+ Follow all MSHA regulations, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures.

+ Assist with other quarry duties as needed, including general labor and equipment support.

Essential Skills

+ Strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and safety.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ Good communication skills and situational awareness.

+ Mechanical aptitude for identifying and reporting equipment issues.

+ Willingness to work in outdoor, physically demanding environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or GED preferred.

+ 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in mining, quarrying, or construction.

+ Experience with both front-end loaders and back loader trucks is required.

+ Valid driver’s license; heavy equipment certification is a plus.

+ Familiarity with limestone or aggregate operations is highly desirable.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily within a quarry, which can be dusty and dirty. Operators will work both indoors and outdoors, handling heavy equipment in various conditions. The role requires adaptability to physically demanding tasks in a rugged setting.

Shift

They work Mon-Fri 6pm-4am.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Strasburg, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
