Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic
**Payrate:** $30 to $40 per hour
**Shift:** 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Thursday
**Location:** Monroe, WA
Job Description
Join a small but rapidly growing company specializing in high-end chocolates, popcorns, and specialty snack foods. As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing equipment efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of maintenance operations at a premier snack food manufacturer and contribute to the company’s growth as they plan to move to a new facility in Arlington in two years.
Responsibilities
+ Perform proper preventive maintenance techniques.
+ Ensure equipment is ready for production start-up.
+ Repair worn out or damaged equipment.
+ Modify and fabricate equipment as needed.
+ Demonstrate knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
+ Follow all safety rules and practices.
+ Achieve work techniques, speeds, and efficiencies at company standards.
+ Develop and implement maintenance procedures for equipment.
+ Innovate to improve efficiency, safety, up-time, and reduce maintenance costs.
+ Lubricate equipment with an understanding of various device requirements.
+ Perform basic welding and cutting of metals.
+ Train personnel on autonomous maintenance and minor repairs and adjustments.
+ Complete work orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) documentation.
+ Maintain clean and organized maintenance spaces and parts/equipment.
+ Maintain storeroom inventory and equipment bill of material.
+ Read and interpret documents such as equipment manuals and safety rules.
+ Communicate effectively in both written and oral forms.
+ Work safely around automated and semi-automated machinery.
+ Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties according to company SOPs before equipment is put back into production.
+ Perform all other work as required.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years of mechanical manufacturing experience preferred.
+ 3+ years of maintenance experience preferred.
+ Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
+ Knowledge and ability in welding and metal fabrication (MIG and TIG) strongly preferred.
+ Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings.
+ Understanding of multimeter usage.
+ Basic math skills required.
+ Effective reading, writing, and communication skills.
+ Basic understanding of GMP and food safety concepts.
+ Compliance with attendance policy.
+ Basic computer skills and ability to work with computers.
+ Ability to work as part of a team.
+ Ability to work safely around food allergens.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Minimum High school diploma or GED required.
+ Ability to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform sanitation duties.

Work Environment
The work environment requires safety shoes, hairnets, and beard nets as part of the attire. Employees must observe GMP practices and may experience exposure to noise, dust, oils, and allergens.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monroe, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
