Job Title: Machine Assembler
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled assembler for our location in South Bend, IN. The role involves working at heights and using ladders, as well as fastening joints and seams in sheet metal using fasteners and drivers. The successful candidate will ensure that all work meets quality specifications and adheres to safety guidelines. Experience in a team environment is beneficial, and experience in construction is advantageous.
Responsibilities
+ Screw sheet metal panels together.
+ Install insulation.
+ Use power tools such as drills, grinders, and plasma cutting equipment.
+ Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on materials.
+ Utilize calculators and tape measures.
+ Fasten seams and joints together with bolts, rivets, caulks, and metal drive clips to assemble components into products.
+ Drill holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
+ Assemble and fit pre-fabricated parts to form subassemblies.
+ Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in mechanical assembly, especially building large equipment.
+ Proficiency with power tools, including drills, grinders, and saws.
+ Experience in construction, particularly carpentry, drywall, or metal roofing.
+ Ability to read tape measures to 1/16th of an inch.
+ Ownership of or ability to acquire steel toe boots and basic hand tools (wrenches, socket wrenches).
+ Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a fabrication shop environment, which can be darker, dirtier, and louder than typical office settings. You will be working on large control panels that sit atop commercial buildings. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Bend, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
