    Composite Technician

     

    Pay 26 - 34 per hour Weekly

     

    2nd and 3rd shift

    Job Description

    As a Composite Technician, you will be responsible for creating composite materials for launchers. This involves cutting, laying up, fabricating, curing, and assembling various types of composite products and assemblies, including both bonded and mechanically fastened assemblies. You will need to exercise basic knowledge of the physical properties of materials such as thermosets, thermoplastics, and composites, as well as their forming and processing characteristics. Additionally, you will be expected to understand the physical and bonding characteristics of materials and adhesives used.

    Responsibilities

    + Build laminated assemblies by determining proper placement and laying up composite plies and adhesives onto tools or molds.

    + Set up assemblies and parts in various types of processing and curing equipment, such as an autoclave or oven, to achieve the desired set and cure.

    + Operate oven controls to maintain the proper temperature, pressure, and time cycle.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with composite materials, epoxy, and lamination.

    + Ability to use an autoclave and knowledge of chemical composites.

    + 3-5 years of experience in the field.

    + Familiarity with ERP systems and quality certifications.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Previous experience with fiberglass and bondo is beneficial.

    + Quality certifications such as TS16949, ISO 9001, AS 9100.

    + Experience in medical device assembly and RC hobby work.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr.
