Job Title: Mechanic
Job Description
As a mechanic, you will perform repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting of all plant process and material handling equipment. This role requires the ability to read blueprints and schematics to ensure the efficient operation of machinery and mechanical equipment within the facility.
Responsibilities
+ Perform repairs and preventative maintenance on plant process and materials handling equipment.
+ Repair and maintain machinery such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines.
+ Replace defective parts using hand and power tools.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, sketches, and engineering drawings.
+ Communicate improvements in work methods and procedures to workers, leaders, and production supervisors.
+ Initiate purchase orders or work orders for parts, tools, and machines.
+ Communicate issues with equipment, machinery, ingredients, or products to supervisors immediately.
+ Maintain an understanding of the production floor workflow from staging to storage.
+ Complete required paperwork accurately and understand its content.
+ Apply basic understanding of in-house asset management software.
+ Adhere to OSHA standards and environmental regulations.
+ Observe all safety procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and good housekeeping practices.
+ Act with quality, safety, and teamwork in mind at all times.
+ Perform additional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisors or Plant Management.
Essential Skills
+ 2-5 years of experience as a mechanic in an automotive or industrial setting.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
+ Proficiency in reading and working from blueprints/schematics.
+ Experience with motor, conveyor, and production machinery.
+ Knowledge in maintenance technician, mechanical repair, hydraulics, preventive maintenance, electrical, pneumatics, and troubleshooting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED preferred.
+ Ability to work independently and in varying temperatures.
+ Effective communication skills in a fast-paced environment.
+ Experience or training in manufacturing, food manufacturing, or supply-chain environment preferred.
+ At least 18 years of age.

Work Environment
Work as a mechanic on ice cream production machinery in a plant located downtown. The environment is fast-paced, and can be cold, hot, loud, and dirty. Training will occur on the 1st shift for two months. The role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and offers a 2nd shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 2:30 PM to 12:00 AM or until the work is finished.

This is a Contract position based out of Harrisburg, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.71 - $25.71/hr.
