Job Title: Maintenance Technician In Effingham
Shift: 5pm-5am, 2 2 3 schedule!
Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will diagnose mechanical issues by observing equipment in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments. You will be responsible for dismantling and removing defective parts with the aid of hoists, cranes, and various tools. Additionally, you will inspect and measure parts using calipers, micrometers, and other instruments to determine dimensional changes, and adjust and repair functional parts using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges. Your role will involve minimizing downtime by educating production staff on preventive maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance, as well as maintaining an inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies, and efficiently using resources to conserve maintenance supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Diagnose mechanical issues using precision measuring and testing instruments.
+ Dismantle and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools.
+ Inspect and measure parts with calipers, micrometers, and other instruments.
+ Adjust and repair functional parts using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
+ Educate production staff on preventive maintenance techniques and ensure compliance.
+ Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies, anticipating needs and restocking.
+ Conduct root cause analysis to address mechanical failures.
+ Use resources efficiently to conserve maintenance supplies and equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Troubleshooting mechanical issues.
+ Preventative and corrective maintenance.
+ Working with conveyors, gearboxes, and belts.
+ Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical systems and equipment.
+ Basic knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and controls.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with welding tools and techniques is a plus.
+ Familiarity with scheduled maintenance routines to reduce downtime.
+ Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
+ Competency in computer applications.
+ Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Work Environment
Located in a 1,000-foot manufacturing facility in Effingham, South Carolina, the work environment is a hot, heavy industrial, automated food manufacturing plant with over 1,000 employees.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Effingham, SC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
