    Job Title: Electrical Test Technician

    Job Description

    The Electrical Test Technician will be responsible for conducting comprehensive testing of electrical switchboards and power distribution equipment to ensure compliance with UL standards and customer specifications. This role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and commitment to maintaining product integrity and safety.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform electrical testing on switchboards, including dielectric testing, mechanical operation verification, and control wiring validation.

    + Execute quality control inspections according to UL 891 and NEC standards.

    + Accurately record inspection results, test data, and any quality-related findings. Maintain detailed reports for management and compliance purposes.

    + Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and adherence to approved specifications. Identify potential issues and deviations early in the process.

    + Ensure all products and processes comply with internal quality standards, as well as applicable industry regulations and certifications.

    + Investigate and resolve quality issues by collaborating with production and engineering teams and identifying root causes. Recommend corrective and preventive actions.

    + Participate in quality improvement initiatives, suggesting process adjustments to enhance product quality and reduce waste.

    + Ensure all testing and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.

    + Follow all safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment.

    + Collaborate closely with production teams and engineers.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum associate degree in electrical technology required, and/or significant experience with UL 891 and NEC standards.

    + NETA certification or similar electrical testing certifications.

    + Previous experience of at least 2 years testing industrial electrical equipment, using equipment such as Hi-pot testers and multimeters.

    + Strong knowledge of electrical safety practices and procedures.

    + Knowledge of quality control processes and techniques.

    + Familiarity with inspection tools and testing equipment.

    + Ability to read, comprehend, and interpret manufacturing documents, component literature, engineering drawings, and testing procedures.

    + Understanding of electrical theory and power distribution systems.

    + Knowledge of NFPA 70E requirements preferred.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High level of accuracy in inspection and testing procedures.

    + Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues effectively.

    + Good verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly report findings and collaborate with teams.

    + Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach at or above shoulder level, grip, and use hands to handle and feel.

    + Frequently required to stoop, lift, carry, push, pull, and grip.

    + Frequently required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and to push/pull up to or greater than 60 pounds with or without accommodation.

    + Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for field support.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a brand new facility with a capacity of about 200-250 people. The role requires wearing steel-toed boots and safety glasses, with long pants and long sleeves or cut-resistant sleeves, which will be provided. The manufacturing floor environment includes exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures. Be prepared to work on a rotating 2-2-3 shift from 6 am to 6 pm, with a comprehensive training week upon starting.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
