Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

As a Mechanical Assembler, you will be engaged in brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch. Each unit is custom-made, requiring you to cut piping to specific lengths and assemble them according to customer needs. You will work from blueprints and participate in assembling the houses that accommodate these units. The role involves considerable physical activity, including bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout the day.

Responsibilities

+ Brazing copper to copper piping using an oxyacetylene torch.

+ Cutting piping to required lengths according to customer specifications.

+ Assembling units based on blueprints and schematics.

+ Helping with the assembly of houses for these racks.

+ Engaging in physical activities such as bending, kneeling, and twisting during the assembly process.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in mechanical assembly, complex machine operation, or construction (3+ months).

+ Ability to read and work from schematics and blueprints.

+ Proficiency in using hand tools, including a tape measure.

+ Mechanical aptitude is essential.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in brazing and mechanical assembly.

+ Background in welding, especially MIG welding on mild steel, is advantageous.

+ Experience in general labor or working in environments requiring physical dexterity.

+ Individuals with backgrounds in plumbing or farm machinery repair are encouraged.

Work Environment

You will be working in a large manufacturing building in teams of 3-4 people. The environment is fast-paced and well-lit, although it can get dirty due to the nature of the work. The workspace does not have air conditioning, but fans are used to maintain airflow. Working hours are from 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. Steel-toed shoes and long pants are required attire every day.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Anoka, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
