    Job Title: Control Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Control Technician to join our team and contribute to the installation, configuration, and maintenance of control systems in commercial and industrial buildings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of low-voltage control wiring, control panels, and network protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.

    Responsibilities

    + Install, terminate, and label low-voltage control wiring according to project specifications and electrical codes.

    + Mount, wire, and configure control panels, field devices, and sensors.

    + Program, download, and verify controller configuration and point mapping for BACnet or Modbus devices.

    + Conduct functional performance testing, identify sequence issues, and correct field discrepancies.

    + Perform system startup and commissioning in collaboration with the project engineer or technician.

    + Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and communication issues within networks.

    + Maintain detailed as-built documentation, including markups to drawings and point lists.

    + Assist in developing and verifying sequences of operation for HVAC systems such as VAVs, AHUs, RTUs, boilers, and chillers.

    + Support integration with third-party systems including lighting, access, and metering.

    + Provide limited training and direction to Technician I personnel.

    + Ensure all work adheres to safety standards, project schedules, and company quality expectations.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical systems, actuators, and flow sensors.

    + Experience with mechanical systems and HVAC components.

    + Ability to program and configure BACnet or Modbus devices.

    + Strong diagnostic skills for resolving hardware and software issues.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification required.

    + EPA Section 608 certification preferred.

    + Manufacturer-level training (e.g., Johnson Controls, Honeywell, Tridium Niagara, Siemens) highly desirable.

    + NICET certification in Controls or Electrical preferred.

    Work is conducted in commercial and industrial buildings. The role requires no less than 40 hours of work per week.
