Job Title: 3rd Shift Machine Assistant (Entry Level)

Job Description

As a Machine Assistant, you will begin your journey as a Machine Operator, learning the intricacies of the machines and their operations over the first few weeks. You will be responsible for managing two machines simultaneously, navigating numerous product changes due to the variety of products manufactured. The machines are large blow mold machines equipped with automated moving conveyors and mechanical parts. Your role involves starting the machine, monitoring operations, catching bottles and parts, and performing tasks such as packing, sorting, and palletizing.

Responsibilities

+ Operate and monitor two machines simultaneously.

+ Start and oversee the operation of large blow mold machines.

+ Monitor automated moving conveyors and mechanical parts.

+ Catch bottles and parts produced by the machines.

+ Pack, sort, and palletize products.

+ Adapt to frequent product changes and machine setup variations.

Essential Skills

+ Mechanical aptitude.

+ Experience with machine operation.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.

+ Familiarity with manufacturing operations.

+ Ability to perform general labor and production tasks.

+ Comfort working around equipment in a louder work environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to be on feet throughout the shift and lift up to 50 lbs.

+ Willingness to learn and potentially move into setup technician roles, especially on third shift.

Work Environment

The work environment is within an older manufacturing floor that is climate-controlled, providing a comfortable atmosphere. The facility houses 13 machines, including 11 blow mold machines and 2 stretch mold machines. Although the environment is somewhat loud, ear plugs are provided for safety. Each shift consists of 10-15 employees, including one setup technician, one maintenance technician, two team leads, one supervisor, and a general manager. Shifts include a third shift from 11pm to 7am, Sunday to Thursday, with occasional overtime opportunities.

This is a Permanent position based out of Stillwater, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.58 - $20.58/hr.
