Job Title: CNC Swiss Lathe Set Up Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Citizen Swiss Lathe operator to join our dynamic team. This role is essential for our machining department's growth, as we invest in new technologies. The ideal candidate will take over programming duties from the Plant Manager and actively operate the Swiss lathe, contributing directly to the production of high-precision aerospace parts.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate CNC Swiss lathe equipment with minimal supervision.
+ Machining of aircraft parts holding tolerances as tight as .0005”.
+ Perform critical measurements using supplied gauging.
+ Maintain proper paperwork associated with planned jobs.
+ Translate prints and have an understanding of GD&T on blueprints.
+ Utilize shop math skills effectively.
+ Handle small components, predominantly working with stainless steel (90%).
+ Work on prototype, short run, or batch production ranging from 30 to 500 pieces.
+ Demonstrate proficiency in using a wide variety of precision measuring tools.
+ Operate Citizen Swiss Lathes and bar fed feeders up to 32mm in diameter.
+ Experience with Mastercam programming from scratch or on the Swiss lathe controller.
Essential Skills
+ 3+ years as a CNC Swiss Lathe operator (Citizen Swiss Lathe).
+ Experience in performing set-ups, tool changes, and offsets.
+ Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding GD&T.
+ Possess basic toolboxes and measuring tools, including indicators.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Programming Mastercam from scratch (3+ years) - 2D & 3D.
+ Background in both mill and lathe programming.
+ Comfortable with bar fed feeders up to 32mm in diameter.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
