Job Title: General Production Worker
Job Description
We are seeking dedicated general production workers to join our team in a large facility located in Carleton. You will play an essential role in assisting our float lines with a project focused on producing high-quality glass for rearview mirrors. This position involves handling, trimming, and preparing glass for shipment.
Responsibilities
+ Pick glass off the production line and racks.
+ Prepare glass for shipments and distribution.
+ Safely handle and carry glass pieces of various sizes and weights up to 80 pounds.
+ Lift and move racks and box lids weighing between 20 to 40 pounds repetitively.
+ Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure product specifications are met.
+ Use a crane with a suction/vacuum system to assist in glass handling, known as 'zimming'.
+ Maintain safety by wearing all required personal protective equipment, including safety shoes and glasses.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to lift 40-45 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
+ Ability to bend, twist, and pivot throughout the entire shift.
+ Comfortable wearing a full Kevlar bodysuit for the entire shift.
+ Comfortable working with glass, which may occasionally break.
+ Must wear steel-toed boots.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in production, general labor, or as a machine operator is beneficial.
+ Experience in inspection and lifting tasks.

Work Environment
Our facility is large with a garage-type feel, and not climate-controlled, resulting in high temperatures during summer due to machinery and furnaces. The environment is dusty and dirty, with a focus on safety. The dress code includes a long-sleeve Kevlar suit, neck guard, hard hat with face shield, and steel-toed boots. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Carleton, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
