    Overview

     

    Responsible to provide support for logistics related functions, such as but not limited to; designing, analyzing, and optimizing transportation routes to ensure cost-effective, timely, and efficient delivery of goods. Data analysis, route planning, carrier coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives in transportation logistics to be performed. Support supply chain teams, as needed.

    Responsibilities

    A DAY IN THE LIFE:

    + Collect data to create a raw materials database for each raw material to include vendor packaging data, mode of transport (air, ocean, etc.) departure location, etc. to support the Global Logistics Manager and 3PL on routing improvements, projects, cost savings initiatives, etc.

    + Correct data errors as they are discovered and collect data changes from vendors to maintain accuracy.

    + Coordinate with Global Logistics Manager and 3PL the onboarding of new suppliers for proper data flow through all systems in future state.

    + Coordinate with Global Logistics Manager, Procurement and 3PL the suppliers exiting from purchasing TSA for proper data flow through all systems in future state.

    + Support Global Logistics Manager to review 3PL reporting data for error states and coordinate with suppliers as needed for corrective actions.

    + Create procedures work instructions and training documents related to raw materials logistics routing and new supplier onboarding in coordination with 3PL.

    + Coordinate with Global Logistics Manager and 3PL and KPI's to review performance metrics.

    + Analyze shipping data to design optimal delivery routes that reduce costs and improve service levels.

    + Develop and identify cost savings initiatives and manage projects through implementation.

    + Support continuous improvement initiatives related to transportation planning and logistics network design.

    + Work with multiple groups within the organization (purchasing, supply chain, plant personnel, etc.) on studies/projects.

    + Ability to analyze freight payment details.

    + Evaluate lane performance and suggest improvements or alternatives.

    + Identify opportunities for consolidation of shipments and reduction of empty miles.

    + Communicate and collaborate project activities to key stakeholders both internally and externally.

    + Help execute process and strategy improvements related to transportation routing improvements.

    + Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery rates, transportation costs, and route efficiency.

    MUST-HAVES:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

    + Minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics analysis, transportation planning, or supply chain operations.

    + Experience working with international freight forwarding, 3PL/4PL providers, or global routing optimization is highly desirable.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft 365; advanced Excel and Power BI skills required.

    + Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, JDE) and transportation management systems (TMS).

    + Solid understanding of international trade compliance, DOT regulations, freight markets, and multimodal logistics operations.

    + Experience supporting transportation activities managed through third-party logistics providers.

    + Knowledge of packaging data and container cube utilization analysis preferred.

    + Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and develop data-driven recommendations.

    + Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot logistics issues and optimize routing for cost, service, and sustainability performance.

    + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and related applications.

    + Demonstrated curiosity and continuous learning mindset toward supply chain technologies and best practices.
