ABOUT THE JOB:
We are seeking a Property Data Specialist II. However, candidates who meet the qualifications and preferences for a Property Data Specialist III may be considered for placement in the higher classification. This position performs clerical and technical work activities in support of the Assessor's Office. Incumbent will coordinate and process a wide variety property assessments, work within data systems, perform customer service and technical support for department staff; and complete special projects and research as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Using knowledge of Assessor’s Office policies and procedures, reviews and evaluates data and documents to verify compliance to statutory and technical rules and regulations governing the value of residential and commercial property located within the County.
+ Examines, processes, and researches legal and technical documents; verifies information; computes values according to state guidelines and County policies.
+ Compiles, reviews, and verifies standardized data; prepares and processes a variety of legal and technical documents; and maintains files.
+ Responds to inquiries from property owners and the general public regarding the appraisal process, values established, and laws governing the valuation of property; composes and processes correspondence.
What You Will Bring:
Knowledge of or experience with:
+ Applicable state and federal rules, codes, and regulations.
+ Standard property appraisal principles, practices, and procedures.
+ Methods and techniques for compiling and evaluating property data, including use of Geographic Information System (GIS) software.
Skill in:
+ Performing a variety of technical functions to support property appraisal operations.
+ Compiling and reviewing technical data.
+ Understanding and explaining government rules, regulations, codes, laws, and ordinances.
+ Maintaining accurate records, and performing mathematical calculations.
+ Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software.
+ Entering information into a computer system with speed and accuracy.

Compensation
$4,480.39 to $6,004.15 for a 172.67 hour work month. Excellent County benefit package when eligible. This union-represented position is available immediately.

Minimum Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED equivalent;
+ AND three (3) years of clerical and research experience in a customer-service oriented office environment dealing with real property transactions, such as local government, title companies, or real estate organizations;
+ OR any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills and knowledge to perform the essential functions of the job.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Prior experience with real property transactions such as local government, title companies or real estate appraisal organizations.
Necessary Special Requirements
The employment offer will be contingent upon pre-employment screening for criminal history and controlled substances (NOTE: Positive test results for marijuana use may result in rescission of a contingent offer of employment). These screenings must be completed with satisfactory findings in order for a formal offer of employment to be extended.
