Shift: 8am-5pm
Job Summary:
Functions as a lead level HA and performs HA duties, assigned to a specific non-patient unit area at a state mental health hospital.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
+ Acts as resource/may mentor lower-level staff.
+ Perform job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
+ Serve as job expert or organization resource in assigned areas.
+ May supervise and/or direct the work of others.
+ Answer clients' call signals.
+ Assist in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs, and/or draws blood or collects other bodily fluids, as directed by a physician or nurse.
+ Bathe, groom, shave and dress clients.
+ Conduct activities for recreation and socialization.
+ Ensure safety and security of clients.
+ Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves.
+ Implement assigned parts of client individualized treatment and behavior management plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a psychiatric setting with adults clients
Experience working in a maximum security adult forensic setting
Experience with Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy equipment, and individuals requiring this specialized therapy.
One (1) year experience as an Health Aide 3
