Position Purpose
The Controls Integrator plays a vital technical role in delivering TAIT’s world-class live experiences by integrating complex systems into cohesive, functional solutions. As a member of the Integration team, this role contributes across the entire project lifecycle—from early coordination and planning through factory and site acceptance testing, culminating in final client delivery. Integration is the final step before handover, making this position essential to ensuring high-quality outcomes and client satisfaction.
Operating at the intersection of technology and art, the Controls Integrator helps bring innovative shows and spectacles to life. This role blends technical execution, project coordination, and client interaction, while continuing to build foundational knowledge across TAIT’s disciplines through hands-on experience.
With growing independence and leadership, the Controls Integrator assumes responsibility for a broader range of routine integration tasks, applying technical skills and experience to meet project expectations. The role requires a solid understanding of controls and mechanical systems, proficiency in key technical areas, and the ability to lead scopes within larger projects. It also demands safe working practices, logistical awareness, and the ability to travel independently.
Over time, the Controls Integrator is expected to demonstrate increasing autonomy, technical competency, and leadership—building a strong reputation within their market and contributing meaningfully to TAIT’s collaborative, multidisciplinary project teams.
Essential Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
+ Test, configure, and prepare automation equipment and control systems for use on site.
+ Assist with controls system commissioning.
+ Assist with controls / electrical maintenance and site works.
+ Comprises part of field engineering and installation team, ultimately implementing technology onsite for the customer.
+ Perform inspections at client sites, identify controls /electrical problems, configure solutions, and instigate the resolution withing budget to TAIT standards.
+ Perform the safe installation of lifting systems.
+ Prepare technical and inspection documentation.
+ Ensure all final reports, documentation, and cases are kept in order and updated, logging all work appropriately.
+ Be able to travel at short notice to client sites, possibly internationally to support clients and projects.
+ Assist with specifying and planning of works including basic electrical design.
+ Control system commissioning.
+ Engage with project management team to ensure successful delivery and handover of projects within parameters of scope of work.
+ Communicates project progress and risks frequently with rest of project team.
+ Demonstrate continuous diplomatic effort to improve operations, streamline work processes and work cooperatively to provide excellent end to end customer service.
+ Establishes and cultivates good relationships with clients, stagehands, electricians, project managers, and others.
+ Capable of leading a defined scope within a larger project.
+ Can lead small-scale projects or low risk scopes with little to no supervision.
+ Demonstrates ability to lead medium-scale projects with moderate risk with supervision.
+ Able to lead a defined scope on a larger project with minimal supervision.
+ Demonstrates autonomy and leadership skills.
+ Demonstrates accountability and trust.
Minimum Qualifications
To perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position.
+ Education: GED/ High School Diploma required.
+ Formal study or training in relevant field a plus.
+ Minimum 2 years of technical experience or training as an integrator, field engineer, technician or equivalent external experience in live entertainment. (e.g. cruise ship, theatre venues, theme parks, live concerts or festivals.)
+ Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
+ Understands the basics of the controls functions, installation, and system configuration.
+ Understands the fundamentals of rigging, motion/automated machinery, staging/touring carpentry, a plus.
+ Experience with machines, hydraulics, and rigging, a plus.
+ Experience with motion control software and hardware, a plus.
+ Experience programming motion control software, a plus.
+ Capable of independent travel.
+ Considers logistics and planning for site work.
+ Practices safe working methods on-site.
+ Ability to manages workload, tracking progress, and reporting blockers.
+ Strong communication skills: Proficient in documenting technical processes and communicating effectively in writing.
+ Ability to Travel and Work in “Entertainment Conditions”: Willingness and ability to travel for extended periods, often working in dynamic, fast-paced environments typical of the entertainment industry.
+ Travel Commitment: Willingness to travel approximately 120 days per year, both domestically and internationally depending on project requirements – sometimes with short notice.
+ Open to flexible schedule driven by project needs.
+ Right to work in the US.
+ Willingness to relocate to Lititz, PA.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is required to frequently walk, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, stoop, and kneel each day. Specific requirements are:
+ Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
+ Must be able to lift or move 70 lbs. with or without assistance.
+ Must be able to pull or push 140 lbs.
Work conditions of the role:
+ Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
+ Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.
+ Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location
+ Ability to work in “entertainment conditions” including a wide variety of working places such as shops, backstage, catwalks at height, construction areas, theme parks, and cruise ships.
