The Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Candidate should be Board certified in Family Medicine; Fellowship training or CAQ optional based on individual candidate.
The Department contracts with multiple FQHCs in West Philadelphia to provide physician services with a goal of reducing health care disparities and improve access. The Department plans to expand physician services to another FQHC location and is seeking candidates who desire to practice in this setting.
Teaching responsibilities may include participation in the education of Family Medicine residents, medical students, and interdisciplinary learner teams.
Clinical responsibilities will include 4 -6 half-days per week of outpatient care in an FQHC or other community health center, as well as non-continuity clinical work in an academic Family Medicine setting (ie: acute care and precepting OR attending on the FM Inpatient Service) Experience with comprehensive primary care of patients of all ages as well as prenatal care services is desired. Candidates interested in pursuing inpatient hospital medicine have the opportunity to include this skill set in their clinical effort, but this is not a required element of the job.
Candidates are not required to participate in research or scholarship, however are welcome to collaborate with faculty within the department and university.
