Lincoln County Health and Human Services is currently looking for someone who can fill the role of Physician. The person who fills this role will be providing invaluable direct healthcare services to our community. We’re looking to add passionate and dedicated professionals to our team. This position consists of providing comprehensive primary care services for patients of the Lincoln Community Health Center. Promoting healthy lifestyles, behaviors, and patient participation in care. Providing services in accordance with all professional practice standards and within the scope of licensure. This position has the potential to develop into the Medical Director position for our FQHC, Coastal Healthcare.
Salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy.
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the delivery of outpatient primary care services including reproductive healthcare.
LICENSES
+ Must possess a current, valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Oregon at the time of appointment.
+ Must have current, valid unrestricted DEA registration.
+ Must be able to be continuously insurable by the clinic’s professional malpractice carriers.
+ Must be able to participate in and maintain eligibility to receive reimbursement for services from both public and private health care insurers as required by the clinic.
+ The person in this position is required to maintain current and active licensures and certifications, as applicable, and to provide the appropriate verifications at time of renewals.
Desirable Qualifications
Accreditation as a Family Practice Physician, Pediatrics, Street Medicine, or other accreditation specialty that supports a community health center position treating patients of all ages is preferred.

JOB FUNCTIONS
Professional Practice:
+ Provide or arrange comprehensive primary care services in an ambulatory clinic setting, including laboratory and diagnostic workup, and specialty referrals.
+ Work interdependently with other health care providers and health care staff in a team environment.
+ Perform minor outpatient procedures in accordance with clinic providers credentialing/privileging policy.
+ Provide consultation to other clinic providers either in person or by telephone.
+ Consult with and coordinate patient care with other clinic providers, community primary care physicians, specialists, pharmacists, nurses, and other health care professionals as appropriate.
+ Assess patient needs for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service.
+ Work independently using employee’s best professional judgment while practicing medicine within their scope of practice.
+ Participate in shared call system with other providers to provide continuous coverage for clinic patients on a 24-hour basis. Call includes phone availability after hours and may require arranging for and coordinating care with emergency room providers and admitting patients to the hospital after hours including weekends and holidays.
+ Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations.
+ Render care to clinic patients in accordance with quality and standards as established by the clinic, the standards of care prevailing in the community, applicable law, and according to state and federal grant requirements for non-discrimination regardless of status, race, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, age, or ability to pay.
+ Respond to patients/families in a collaborative manner that conveys compassion, respect, and a desire and willingness to assist in the achievement of patient’s goals for improved health.
+ May act as the Medical Director in the absence of that role.
Documentation:
+ Accurately document assessment and clinical findings to produce a complete medical record (including physical, mental, and/or social problems) on patients in a clear, complete, and concise manner within established time frames and standards of care.
QA/QI and Risk Management:
+ Participate in Quality Improvement activities including operational and clinical improvement initiatives, pharmacy formulary development and utilization, peer review, audits, risk management, development of clinical policies and other procedures that support clinic meeting and maintaining all necessary standards and requirements.
+ Maintenance of credentials essential for practice, to include licensure, certification, and CME’s.
+ Maintain and ensure confidentiality of patient’s conditions and records, as well as other confidential information.
+ Maintain awareness of and adhere to appropriate safety and security precautions, universal precautions, and alert supervisory staff to any deficiencies in a timely manner.
+ Provide clinical oversight and appropriate training of ancillary health care staff to assure quality of care for clinic patients in coordination with Medical Director and Program Managers.

Lincoln County offers a comprehensive benefit package including vacation, holiday, and sick leave as well as medical, dental, vision which is paid at 90% by the County and 10% by the employee. Other fully paid benefits include life, AD&D, long-term disability insurance. Other optional insurances are available. A 401K retirement plan is also provided. The County's current contribution rate is 11%.
Regular and Trial Service employees working between 20 and 39 hours per week on a regular basis are eligible for pro-rated employee benefits.
