Purpose:
The Welding & Assembly Supervisor **o** rganizes, coordinates, and supervises employees and activities within the welding & assembly, Factory Acceptance Test, and Test Lab departments to ensure an effective and efficient fabrication operation that meets safety, quality, and production standards. Reports to Production Manager.
Essential Welding Skills & Functions to be possessed & demonstrated:
+ Assigns work to department personnel to attain department objectives using knowledge of production processes, company policies, production schedules, work orders, equipment capacity and employee capabilities.
+ Readily perceives and effectively responds to schedules and product flows essential to supervising highly productive, cost-effective, quality-oriented manufacturing operations.
+ Establish and control procedures and work instructions to ensure production of conforming product assembly components.
+ Monitors and controls established procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards.
+ Recommends and initiates improvements to production processes, to increase manufacturing efficiency.
+ Establishes and monitors cost control systems to achieve department budget objectives.
+ Responsible for compliance with safety and housekeeping requirements.
+ Facilitates and promotes company policy within all department work groups.
+ Provides training, support, direction and guidance to department personnel to continually develop their work habits, job skills and safety practices.
+ Evaluates employee performance and accountability.
+ Provides objective feedback for continued employee growth.
+ Recommends and/or administers personnel actions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
+ Responsible for time approvals and PTO management of employees
+ Set department goals and develop outline for achievement.
+ Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering and project teams, to ensure a smooth manufacturing process
+ Engage and participate in design reviews with project teams to optimize product design for both customer requirements and manufacturability
+ Lead and facilitate Pre-Production Meetings
+ Review and approve project assembly work instructions.
+ Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed
+ Other duties as assigned

Education
+ High school Diploma or GED and 8+ years of relevant experience OR BSME /BSEE degree; Management or supervisory experience is preferred.
Previous Experience:
+ Minimum 5+ years experience in engineering and/or manufacturing related work
+ Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment; preferably welding and testing
Additional Requirements:
+ Familiar with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook)
+ Ability to learn & understand software and complete transactions in SAP related to procedures and work instructions
+ Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
+ Ability to supervise diverse work groups in a team environment using effective listening, coaching, training, investitive and problem-solving skills, ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and effective time management in a fast-paced environment.
+ Proficient in TIG and Orbital welding of super duplex stainless-steel small-bore tubing
+ Proficient in fiber optic testing with certification
+ Practical knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment required to produce and plumb/test, SUTAs, Cobra Heads, STFLs, and umbilical end terminations
+ Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics accurately
Travel Requirements
+ Travel is not typical of this position but may be offered/expected/required based upon work demands and other conditions.
