POSITION OVERVIEW
The Success Ambassador position blends knowledge in operations, human resources, and career coaching to develop strong relationships with front line Associates to assist them with career pathing. The position is embedded in assigned sites working side-by-side with new and current front-line Associates to ensure an exceptional employee experience with on-boarding, job barrier removal, access to career training and education, and career pathing. The Ambassador will also ensure a deep connection between the Associate and the mission, vision, and values of Goodwill. Positioning the Associate employment experience and their success as a priority, the Success Ambassador will execute a multifaceted and holistic career development model built on face-to-face interaction leading to Associate success regarding job performance and personal growth.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Operations Partner
+ Partners with manager to establish a positive and healthy organizational experience and work culture that influences retention and minimizes turnover.
+ Assists manager with identifying and coordinating enhanced training for associates to promote growth and remediate performance challenges.
+ Assists manager with identifying high potential associates.
+ Facilitates onboarding experience ensuring new associates are aware of how to be successful at work.
+ Acts as a liaison for management teams with human resources to support recruitment, new associate identification, and on-site problem mitigation (triage and remediate proactively).
+ Assist Associates with access to Mission Services programs, continuing education, and internal training programs.
Human Resources Partner
+ Primary partner for onboarding of new associates at time of hire acting as interface with HR for new hire paperwork, helps conduct in-person orientation, provides site specific information, and establishes “buddy” system.
+ Develops and implements methods to help instill understanding of organizations mission, vision, values, and equity while correlating to overall organizational strategic and tactical initiatives.
+ Assists with select frontline associate training programs and champions on-going job & organization specific training (E.G., exceeding expectations, customer service, safety, mandatory trainings, etc.).
Mission Partner
+ As necessary, assists Associates with barrier removal to allow for highest levels of achievement both personally and professionally.
+ Connects Associates to internal resources designed to reduce financial hardships.
+ Works with Mission Services Staff and Operations Trainers to develop career development plans for internal and/or external growth paths.
Bridges internal development with external development understanding that internal pathways reside with Operations Trainers, and external pathways reside with the Opportunity Centers, External Pathways reside with the Opportunity Center.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED
+ Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in case management, career counseling, or employment service programs preferred.
+ Work with limited supervision.
+ Good organizational skills.
+ Strong communication ability with all levels of Associates, senior leaders, and external partners.
+ Must be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with Associates.
+ Work effectively with referral sources and case coordination staff to ensure the continuity of services.
+ Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft office suite.
+ Positive attitude, attention to detail, and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and Associate case load.
+ Possess a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
+ Able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends as required.
* Ability to travel to events and sites across Goodwill SEGA’s territory as needed.
