About This Position
+ Manage day-to-day operations of Laurel Park, including staffing, scheduling, and facility management (location may vary based on PRNR needs)
+ Generate revenue, control expenses, manage budgets, and maintain inventories for supplies, equipment, and program materials
+ Coordinate and implement recreational and leisure programs, including summer camps, fitness classes, sports activities, educational sessions, and special events
+ Promote facilities and programs, including marketing, securing partnerships, and enhancing community engagement
+ Oversee program logistics, including equipment setup/teardown, space reservations, contracts, permits, waivers, insurance forms, and fee collection
+ Ensure policies, procedures, and safety measures are followed at all times
+ Enter and maintain accurate records in RecTrac for reservations, activities, daily visits, revenue collection, program registrations, POS sales, and memberships
+ Work with outside contractors and vendors to support facility services and maintenance needs
+ Recruit, train, and manage staff and volunteers to ensure smooth program delivery
+ Evaluate programs, track expenses, survey participants, and prepare timely reports to inform decision-making and improve services
+ Responsible for marketing and promoting the site's recreational programs, special events, and assigned park
+ Oversee the upkeep of the walking trail equipped with fitness apparatus, ensuring a clear path to the legacy trail
+ Ensure the outdoor basketball court, two tennis courts, playground, and multipurpose field are maintained and safe for public use
+ Manage the large pavilion, community garden, rental gymnasium, and multipurpose rooms, ensuring their availability and readiness for various events and functions
+ Coordinate with the co-located Laurel Civic to ensure successful concurrent operations and seamless provision of services for both adults and children
Work Hours:
+ Operating Days: Sunday - Saturday
+ Work Full-Time, 40 hours per week
+ Work hours can vary between 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
+ Enjoy a flexible, rotating schedule that supports park operations and special events
+ Be ready to jump in for occasional evening or weekend shifts during exciting community events
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation, Leisure Services, biological/natural sciences, education or related field AND two (2) years of related experience
+ -OR- A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Recreation, Leisure Services, biological/natural sciences, education or related field AND one year of related experience
+ -OR- Professional experience as described herein can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education
+ Ability to obtain a certification in CPR within the first six (6) months from time of hire
+ A Valid Florida driver’s license at time of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Recreational & Leisure Service programming experience
+ CPRP (Certified Parks and Recreation Professional) Certification
+ Expereince with including Microsoft Office Professional and RecTrac or similar reservation software
Physical Demands: Must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years
Fingerprint Screening: This position is subject to a mandatory fingerprint-based background check in accordance with applicable federal, state, and/or local laws. The screening will be used to verify criminal history and other relevant information as permitted by law. An applicant who fails to pass a required screening may be disqualified from employment
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $53,456.00 - $55,057.60/ annually , based on experience
