    BUDGET ADMINISTRATOR - SES

    LEON COUNTY (POSITION NUMBER 77072663)

    This position is located within the Division of Law Enforcement’s Budget Section. This position’s primary responsibilities include supervising two employees, ensuring state purchasing card transactions, Purchase Requisitions, contracts and leases are properly procured in accordance with State & Agency policies and procedures, supported by all necessary back up documentation as appropriate, prior to having charges processed for payment. Processes communication and fuel invoices, operates as a “Advanced Buyer” in emergencies, managing the allotments for the division sections and Scripting correction moves as needed.

     

    Analyzes the financial reports to ensure budget(s) are properly charged within each section and works with each section to ensure their budgets accurately account for their fiscal year needs to maximize the operations of the division. Assists in the end of year processes, including tracking operational categories to manage division spending.

     

    Plans workloads, workflows, manages deadlines, work objectives and time utilization with employees to ensure the work needs are met. This includes working with the Agency’s Finance and Budget Office sections to ensure the procurement needs of the division are met and that payments are submitted in accordance with Agency policies and prompt payment 215.422, F.S.

     

    Directs the work of employees to ensure the best use of time and resources. Communicates on a regular basis with employees and keeps them informed of changes that occur.

     

    Provides training to employees in methods for performing an effective and efficient job.

     

    Provides assistance to division staff, other divisions and offices within the agency and the public.

     

    Evaluates employees through established criteria, responsibilities and meeting regularly with employees.

     

    Performs related work as required.

    Knowledge, skills and abilities, including utilization of equipment, required for the position:

    + Knowledge of the principles and practices of management and supervision.

    + Knowledge of business functional areas such as purchasing, accounting, budgeting or personnel.

    + Ability to supervise people.

    + Ability to manage the business functions of an agency.

    + Ability to determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion of work assignments.
