Join Our Team at DCFS: Accountant Manager 1
This position works within the Fiscal Services Payment Management- Contract Unit. The incumbent of this position manages the fiscal operations for the unit and must possess a complete and comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as well as generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS). Additionally, a complete understanding of the LAGOV ERP system, key business functions and State of Louisiana policies is required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications
Seven years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
+ Manges the fiscal operations for the Contracts payment management unit.
+ Directs the preparation of financial reports to the State Treasurer's Office, banking institutions and other fiscal, budget and programs within DCFS.
+ Facilitates the disbursement, preparation, and corrections of the IRS 1099s for contractors and vendors paid.
+ Serves on project teams in the design, development and or implementation of new management information systems, and in the enhancement of existing systems.
+ Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
