    The Louisiana Special School District (LSSD) is an education service agency that provides services to the Louisiana Special Schools (Louisiana School for the Deaf, Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired, and Special School Programs). The schools provide educational opportunities to students with low-incidence disabilities and a variety of unique needs.

We’re seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Technician to support our warehouse operations and help ensure that materials flow smoothly and safely through our facility.

    Position Summary:

    As a Warehouse Technician, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day warehouse functions: receiving shipments, storing and organizing inventory, picking and preparing orders, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment. You’ll collaborate with other team members to help us meet productivity goals, accuracy standards, and safety requirements.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Two years of warehouse experience, or experience in receiving, storing, or distributing supplies or equipment.

    EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:

    Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.

    Job Duties and Other Information

    Job Duties:

    * Checks incoming stock to ensure it matches SSD purchase orders.

    * Use warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, pallet jacks, and dollies.

    * Fuels fleet vehicles, lawn care equipment, and heavy equipment.

    * Tracks inventory and purchase requests; submits warehouse restock orders in a timely manner.

    * Helps maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.

    * Makes deliveries of received items once they are processed through the warehouse.

    Position-Specific Details:

    Appointment Type: Probational or Promotional. The chosen application will be required to take a probationary appointment.

     

    Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am-4:30 pm Monday - Friday; unless otherwise specified by the Director of Facilities.
