    We are currently accepting applications for Interns for our Sacramento Office location. This opportunity will be starting Summer 2026, working with our Accounting team.

     

    We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Construction Project Accounting Intern to join our Royal Electric team. This internship provides hands-on experience in project-based accounting within the construction industry. The intern will support project accountants and project managers with financial tracking, cost analysis, reporting, and administrative tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in accounting, finance, or construction management to gain practical experience in a dynamic, real-world environment.

    Success in the position can be achieved through the following duties & responsibilities:

    + Assist with processing and reviewing project invoices, pay applications, and change orders.

    + Support the preparation of monthly project cost reports and budget-to-actual analysis.

    + Track subcontractor compliance, including lien waivers, insurance certificates, and contracts.

    + Help maintain accurate project financial records in the accounting system.

    + Perform data entry, reconciliations, and document organization.

    + Assist with job cost coding, purchase orders, and expense tracking.

    + Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and accountants on project financial needs.

    + Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis as requested by the accounting team.

    Requirements

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications; exposure to accounting or project management software is a plus.

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    + Interest in construction and project-based accounting.

     

    Education & Experience

     

    + Current student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.

    Safety & Physical Requirements

    + Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

    Salary Range:

    + $22-$27
