    We are searching for the best talent for Monofilament Extrusion Lead

    JOB SUMMARY

    Established support individual contributor that executes tasks that are typically routine, with some deviation from standard practice. Provides support for internal teams in the Manufacturing Assembly area. Follows administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables. Maintains high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment.

     

    Safely and efficiently executes daily tasks related to extrusion manufacturing of synthetic absorbable and non-absorbable monofilament products. Typical tasks include providing training, set-up, tear-down, & cleaning of equipment, start-up, running, and shut-down of extrusion processes, testing of products, troubleshooting of equipment and processes, as well as maintenance of equipment.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    In accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson, procedures and guidelines, this position:

    + Completes tasks for the support function of the Manufacturing Assembly area and follows administrative processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and quality of deliverables.

    + Adheres to best practices for set up, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of machinery/equipment to foster a safe working environment.

    + Helps monitor and install components of multiple in-process products, assemblies, or sub-assemblies on the assembly line.

    + Builds competency with new and routine machinery.

    + Supports tracking of the quality of outputs to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products.

    + Demonstrates Johnson & Johnson’s Leadership Imperatives and Credo.

    + Maintain and troubleshoot equipment.

    + Set up and tear down extruders/equipment.

    + Demonstrate Intermediate Troubleshooting skills.

    + Operate at least three extrusion processes (Applicable to Athens only)

    + Demonstrate flexibility and willingness for continued training.

    + Demonstrates consistently effective job performance that encompasses good quality and quantity of work, and dependability.

    + Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures.

    + Performs other duties assigned as needed.

    + Work effectively in a cross-functional team environment with all interactive groups (ex. Direct team members, management, and engineers).

    + Oversee and coach associates through basic performance problems.

    + Coordinate and lead day-to-day activities in the production manufacturing area as necessary, in alignment with immediate or direct supervision.

    + Responsible for delivering departments outputs daily for assigned shift.

    + Monitor assigned area and re-allocate resources as necessary to meet schedule requirements within the department.

    + Collaborate with Supervisor on all department performance and operator issues, coordinating priorities with other shift Leads.

    + Train New personnel in the area.

    + Responsible for training adherence for the shift.

    + Support projects and validations as needed.

    + Responsible for cleanliness and maintenance of the setup room.

    + Prepare weekly staffing plan for the area.

    + Order Raw Materials to warehouse as needed.

    + Support others in troubleshooting equipment issues.

    + Responsible for extrusion plan attainment.

    + Provides recommendations and opportunities for OEE improvements.

    + Promotes a safety focused culture and the Good Saves program within his Shift.

    + Ensures that employees within shift are adhering to GMPs, GDPs and acting in accordance to their process specifications.

    + Responsible for ensuring sustainability of the 6S program.

    + Responsible for maintaining all assigned work areas safe, clean and in good operating condition.

    + Opens work orders if repairs are required in the facilities or the equipment.

    + Reports any associates who are not behaving in accordance with the J&J established policies to the Line Facilitator or Manufacturing Manager as applicable.

    + Escalates any major safety, quality or equipment downtime situation to the Shift Line Facilitator or the Manufacturing Manager as applicable.

    + Demonstrates leadership qualities. Create and actively pursue a team-based, non-threatening environment designed to promote teamwork and open exchange of ideas.

    + Ensure cross shift participation. Frequently identify and communicate progress and areas of improvement to team members.

    + Communicates problems and potential solutions to supervisor, technician, engineer and incoming production shifts.

    + Demonstrates ability to manage complexity.

    + Promotes innovation and continuous learning to other associates.

    + Demonstrate leadership by delegating work of others, gather information and complete reports as requested.

    + Consistently meet required Training due date targets.

    + Demonstrate flexibility and willingness for continued training.

    + Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level

    + Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.

    + For those who supervise or manage a staff, responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition, if applicable

    + Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures

    + Performs other duties assigned as needed

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

    + Associates Degree or Equivalent Extrusion experience (6-8 years), or training

    + Vocational, Certificate, Technical or Associates High School

    + Generally, Requires 4-6 Years Work Experience

    + Experience in Medical Device or related industry preferred.

    + Experience reading and interpreting manufacturing documents.

    + Strong background in math or science: SPC skills, and/or post high school is desirable.

    + Experience running multiple Monofilament Extrusion product lines:

    + Cornelia: (e.g., ETHILON, MONOCRYL, PROLENE, PDS, etc.)

    **REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS** _*_

    + Computer skills and application (e.g. Excel, Outlook, CAMSTAR, ERP, etc.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.

    + Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide, percentages

    + General inspection skills.

    + Strong Leadership skills.

    + Statistical and analytical problem-solving ability.

    + Ability to use measuring devices such as Micrometers, scales and balances, calculators, tachometers, computer, and Instron test units.

    + Ability to use basic hand tools.

    + Ability to work independently without continuous supervision.

    + Ability to maintain accurate records.

    + Capable of innovative thinking to resolve problems and recommend corrective actions

    + Ability to work in teams
