I. Job Summary
Manages the full fleet of primary and secondary equipment within the assigned area, in alignment with corporate objectives.
_This role supports our in-plant team at Heil as a Quality Assurance Manager in Fort Payne, Alabama. You are required to be in the plant approximately 75% of the time focused on inspection and audit quality._
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Drive market base profitability through effective management of fleet and maintenance activities, including cost control, employee development, and adherence to safety standards.
+ Ensure safe, reliable vehicles are available to meet operational needs and manage optimal utilization of vehicle assets.
+ Review and approve capital equipment requisitions in line with corporate guidelines.
+ Oversee maintenance shop operations, ensuring adequate staffing, proper training, and compliance with preventive maintenance programs.
+ Conduct fleet evaluations and periodic inspections to maintain high-quality standards and identify improvement opportunities.
+ Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to address warranty and quality issues, including corrective action plans for identified defects.
+ Monitor and enforce compliance with WM’s Mission to Zero standards, OSHA regulations, and environmental requirements.
+ Support large contract and specialized equipment start-ups, including CNG initiatives.
+ Participate in driver/safety meetings and provide training to promote morale, productivity, and operational excellence.
+ Maintain accurate records of equipment specifications, updates, and quality reports; submit required documentation in a timely manner.
+ Assist in budget preparation and meet all financial review deadlines.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure fleet reliability and quality assurance across the area.
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree , or equivalent experience
+ 7 years to ten years previous experience.
+ Valid driver’s license required.
