We are looking for a Senior ORAT Consultant to be based in our Austin office.
Arup’s Operations Consulting service sits within our Advisory Services practice and is a multi-disciplinary team bringing together specialist skills in people, processes and assets to deliver excellence to our clients and transform their businesses. We provide a breadth of expertise covering business psychology, human factors, logistics and supply chain, operational design, asset management, process improvement, operational resilience, change management and operational readiness and Operational Readiness Activation & Transition (ORAT).
We are seeking to strengthen our ORAT business, building on our rapid growth and continued demand for this service in the US in a range of markets including Aviation, Transport and Property. ORAT facilitates the transition of complex projects from the design and construction period through to live operations and beyond. It manages the integration of people, processes, systems and facilities and brings together diverse stakeholder groups towards a common goal. ORAT requires a blend of capabilities across project management, change management, risk management, stakeholder management and subject matter expertise.
The opportunity
• Lead and deliver large, high profile operational readiness projects in Austin and across the region.
• Plan and scope projects to ensure timely delivery of outputs, considering the work of other colleagues and stakeholders and execute all phases of ORAT for projects.
• Manage a project team of Arup consultants
• Contribute to the development of tools and service offerings.
• Contribute to ORAT specific and wider business development, including identifying opportunities within existing client relationships, and developing compelling & winning proposals and pitch documents
• Support the existing ORAT networks in the region and globally by providing additional capacity and diverse experience
• Support the development of a robust ORAT service capability with collaboration from the Regional ORAT Lead
• Extensive travel might be required.
Is this role right for you?
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 8 + years’ experience in project management, change management or operations management/consulting, ideally with experience in the aviation sector.
• Demonstrated skills in stakeholder engagement and subject matter expertise.
• High level of communication and relationship management skills
• The aptitude to work on your own initiative and be proactive
• The ability to work on multiple engagements concurrently
• Experience in winning work
• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, business etc
• English proficient (oral and written); other languages are advantageous.
• Ability to pass airport security background checks and actively hold a valid Driver’s license
• A PMP certification or similar is preferred

Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Austin is $133,000 to $165,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Austin will differ.
