    Director of Nutrition Services and Regulatory Compliance

     

    Are you a nutrition professional driven by purpose, precision, and a passion for compliance? Join our team as Director of Nutrition Services and Regulatory Compliance and play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest nutrition and regulatory standards across our Prepared Meals and Contract Management divisions. At the intersection of science, service, and operational excellence, your expertise will help fuel healthier communities—supporting clients in education, healthcare, and beyond.

    What You’ll Do:

    Champion Nutrition Program Compliance & Regulatory Affairs

    + Ensure menus, recipes, and production records align with all current USDA regulations, supporting field teams through administrative reviews.

    + Stay ahead of USDA, FDA, and state regulations (HHFKA, FSIS labeling, etc.) and communicate updates to internal teams.

    + Apply Medical Nutrition Therapy knowledge to support special dietary needs across school, healthcare, and hospital environments.

    + Respond to parent, client, and community inquiries with clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.

    Drive Menu, Recipe & Data Integrity

    + Manage accuracy of ingredient, specification, and recipe data across major nutrition platforms (Nutrikids, Genesis, Culinary Suite, Sage, X3, FD Meal Planner).

    + Input, evaluate, and analyze recipes and products, ensuring compliance with USDA regulations and Food Buying Guide crediting.

    + Develop and maintain SOPs, nutrition resources, and user-friendly tools for culinary center and contract management teams.

    + Lead bid menu development for schools, ensuring full alignment with USDA nutrition standards.

    Deliver Nutritional Analysis & Client Partnership

    + Provide nutrition analysis for menus, products, and client-specific needs.

    + Support teams with menu creation, data entry, and client-driven nutrition requests.

    + Lead engaging presentations for clients, general managers, and corporate leaders.

    + Monitor and update organizational nutrition-related claims to maintain accuracy and integrity.

    Lead Training, Education & Development Initiatives

    + Precept dietetic interns and manage internship program contracts.

    + Create and deliver nutrition education materials, presentations, and tools for internal and external stakeholders.

    + Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and nutrition science through continuing education.

    Engage in Wellness, Community & Special Projects

    + Partner with HR and Corporate Wellness to support and participate in wellness events.

    + Drive wellness-related planning and initiatives that align with organizational goals.

    + Conduct OPRA/FOIA filings to support competitive transparency and bidding.

    Develop and Empower Talent

    + Supervise and mentor Nutrition team members, fostering performance, growth, and engagement.

    + Support organizational development including competency building and manager training.

    We’re Looking For:

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition (required)

    + Registered Dietitian with active CDR certification (required)

    + Food Safety certification (preferred)

    + 3–5 years of progressive experience in school nutrition, healthcare, or foodservice

    + Prior management or supervisory experience required

    + Strong knowledge of NSLP/SBP under HHFKA

    + Experience with nutrition compliance, menu analysis, and recipe management

    + Proficiency with Nutrikids, Genesis, Culinary Suite, Sage, X3, and Microsoft Office

    + Excellent communication, research, presentation, and organizational skills

    + Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

    This role offers a salary range of $90,000– $110,000 annually, based on skills, experience, and location.

    Requirements

    Education

    + Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in food and nutrition required.

     

    Certifications

     

    + Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) certification required.

    + Food Safety certification preferred.

    Experience

    + Minimum 3–5 years of progressive experience in school nutrition, healthcare, or foodservice environment.

    + Prior management or supervisory experience required.

    + Strong knowledge of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program under Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act guidelines.

    + Prior experience with nutrition compliance, menu analysis, and recipe management.

     

    Computer Skills

     

    + Proficiency with nutrition/menu analysis software (Nutrikids, Genesis, Culinary Suite, Sage, X3).

    + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

    Other Qualifications

    + Excellent communication, research, and presentation skills.

    + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
