    Job Description

    A customer is seeking a fully remote Storage systems programmer to support one of their largest customers.

     

    - Responsible for administering, configuring, and installing mainframe storage infrastructure, including DASD, tape, virtual tape, encryption, and replication for backup and disaster recovery.

     

    - Duties include hardware/software refreshes, customer migrations, and daily support.

     

    - Manage DASD and tape storage for multiple customers and LPARs

     

    Diagnose and resolve storage issues

     

    Oversee backup jobs (daily, weekly, monthly)

     

    - Perform data migrations and recovery

     

    Support data center and disaster recovery projects

     

    - Collaborate with account teams, customers, and vendors

     

    - Can pay $50-55/h

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 10+ years of experience (degree or equivalent work experience)

     

    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

     

    Expertise in IBM storage software (Copy Services Manager, SMS, HSM, IDCAMS, DFDSS)

     

    - Disaster Recovery planning experience

     

    Deep knowledge of DASD hardware, replication, catalog structures, LPAR sysplexes

     

    - Proficiency with IBM/Oracle tape systems, CA-1, MIMTape; functional skills with Dell/EMC

     

    - Familiarity with RMM, TLMS, GRS, Tapecopy, SMF

     

    - Understanding of GDPR compliance
