• Mortgage Back Security (MBS) Operations Analyst

    Job Description

    For 100k, this role supports the Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) trading and sales desk within a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive environment, ensuring operational accuracy and compliance across multiple functions. The analyst will manage client trade allocations, trade confirmations, and new account requests while resolving trade discrepancies such as DKs, fails, and open items. Daily responsibilities include facilitating sub-account allocations for cash and repo transactions, collaborating closely with the Trading Desk, Sales Desk, Clearance, Technology, Credit, Legal & Compliance, and Trade Accounting teams. The position also involves monitoring TRACE reporting and Fed Dollar settlements to maintain regulatory compliance, assisting with Agency Exchanges, Supers, and new issue CMO processes, and creating BAM sheets to track trade allocations and funding requirements. Additionally, the analyst will provide daily MBS repo position reports to support liquidity management and risk control.

    Skills and Requirements

    - 0-5 years of experience in an MBS focused role or knowledge through school coursework

    • i.e. MBS Analyst/Associate

     

    - Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, charts), Word, PowerPoint

     

    - Bloomberg familiarity

     

    - Self-starter, confident, collaborative mindset

     

    - Bachelors and/or Masters in related field - Broadridge MBSE and TBA allocation experience

     

    - Knowledge of Impact/NAPE systems

     

    - SIE and/or Series 7, 63 (will sponsor for someone once they start)

     

    - Understanding of automation and process improvement
