Job Description

Insight Global's client in the Energy Utilities Industry is searching for a Level 1 Project Controls Analyst to report to one of their Power Plants in the Tampa Bay area. This individual will support project management activities across engineering and construction initiatives. Additional responsibilities are as follows:

Monitor and analyze project budgets, forecasts, and actual spending to ensure everything stays on track.

Create monthly and yearly cost reports, including cash flow projections and explanations for any differences from the plan.

Keep cost estimates and project schedules up to date throughout all stages—from planning and purchasing to construction and final delivery.

Help plan staffing and materials by identifying early needs and potential delays.

Work closely with procurement and accounting teams to track purchase orders, cost codes, and ensure compliance with internal processes.

Review bids and contracts to make sure cost control measures are included.

Suggest and help implement improvements to project tracking tools and processes.

Skills and Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

3+ years of professional experience with budgeting, forecasting, cash or cost management, scheduling, and project planning.

Professional experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Experience in engineering or construction project controls

Experience budgeting, cash flow planning, or Primavera scheduling tools
