    The Airside Product Support Leader is responsible for providing leadership for our Catalog AHU, Terminal and VAV Product Support team located in Columbia, SC. Primary focus is to delight our internal and external customers through timely and knowledgeable product support, to provide resources to enhance field sales team efficiency, and to provide positive customer experiences when visiting facilities. This individual will also lead, in partnership with our portfolio leadership and field sales teams, sales enablement initiatives contributing to the growth of the Airside business. This leader will accomplish these goals by promoting and developing a diverse team of product support engineers whose expertise is leveraged across a broad product portfolio.

    Where is the work:

    + On-Site (4 days)

    + From Monday to Thursday, work onsite with your colleagues. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires.

    What you will do:  

    • Lead a team of Product Support Engineers in daily support of the field organization including ownership of customer satisfaction metrics. Develop and lead the managing for daily/weekly improvement process surrounding these metrics.

    • Create and manage talent management strategy utilizing skills matrix and talent succession planning methodologies. Based on this strategy, develop and coach team members in advancement of their technical and application knowledge as well as personal development goals.

    • Lead and participate in coordinated jobs pricing process aligned to business unit standard processes. Assist the field organization in developing bid strategies and optimizing the product bill of material. Act as point of contact for critical to close opportunities.

    • Develop and manage sales office performance process including related metric definition and data analytics. Leverage process to identify and drive sales enablement strategy and related action plan.

    • Support and evolve our customer site visit process, through in person and virtual options, to deliver a positive customer experience with our operations.

    • Serve as an internal champion for field customers while balancing the needs of internal and external customers.

    • Assist Product Support Engineers in the resolution of conflicts with internal or external customers in the areas of, but not limited to, technical, systems, application, customer specification, job expediting and pricing questions.

    • Partner with Product Management team to assist with developing and executing commercialization plans for new and existing airside products. Including travel to sales offices in support of product sales, training, and product promotion.

    • Maintain good understanding of major competitive product lines, marketing strategies, current system types, and relative costs. Effectively communicate this information with the field, department, and other functional areas.

    • Support Trane Select Assist (TSA) defect reduction and testing efforts through active involvement in ongoing testing and system improvement activities.

    • Utilize Lean thinking to develop and/or improve standard work and processes.

    What you will bring:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, engineering technology, business or equivalent from a four year college or university

    • Minimum of 3 years combined working experience in areas of product management, marketing, sales, operations, and/or related fields.

    • Experience as a people manager preferred.

    • Experience with Trane Select Assist (TSA) and Zendesk a plus.

    • Possess strong executive presence and political acumen. Ability to deal effectively with field organization (customers, sales, assistants, account managers)

    • Effective and clear decisionmaker under pressure situations

    • Strong written and oral communication skills across a diverse stakeholder group

    • Proven ability to build effective relationships across a broad stakeholder group within a matrixed organization

     

    Compensation:** **  

     

    Base Pay Range: $90,000-125,000Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, and geographic location where the work is performed.
