Job Summary and Qualifications
The Division Lead Quality Coordinator directly supports the professional practice evaluation process as applicable to the Central West Texas Division and affiliated facilities. The Division Lead Quality Coordinator is responsible for the review screening, organization of case by the Professional Practice Evaluation Reviewer(s), and coordinates presentation of cases to assist the Central West Texas Division and affiliated facilities in optimizing patient outcomes, safety, and clinical performance.
This position is responsible to manage the quality review process, to include the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) for new applicants and new privileges, within the facility while working closely with the Vice President of Quality/Quality Director, Chief Medical Officer & appointed medical staff leadership. The Division Lead Quality Coordinator will work collaboratively with staff from Clinical Outcomes, HIM, Coding, Medical Staff Services, Administration and various physician, nursing and ancillary care groups
In this position you will:
• Review medical records and other data sources to screen for selected quality indicators.
• Monitor compliance with all TJC standards related to FPPE/OPPE and Medical Staff Standards.
• Analyze data for patterns or trends and opportunities for improvement, as indicated by the Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation Process and the Focus Professional Practice Evaluation Process that includes managing the periodic reporting.
• Ensure that operations conform to local, state, and federal governmental regulations.
• Design, plan and coordinate a consistent, centralized medical staff quality review process throughout Central West Texas Division and affiliated facilities
• Act as a Subject Matter Expert to division facilities related to all PPE matters.
• Identify and voice process improvement opportunities or problems that must be identified and resolved immediately so process is not delayed.
• Monitor compliance with HCA model policies, procedures and bylaws.
• Prepare the medical record and other information for review by the PPE Reviewer, PPE Committee, CMO, VPQ/Quality Director and additional PPE Support Specialists as well.
• Provide ongoing education, support and training to the Division PPE Support Staff.
• Manage Division Quality Coordinator employees and escalate to Division, AVP of Quality, as necessary.
• Act as an education resource and consultant to facility Vice President of Quality/Quality Director and Medical Department Chairs
• Take an active part of all new systems implementation, training and management related to Practitioner Excellence and Professional Practice Manager.

Requirements
Experience
• 2 years of experience as a Quality Coordinator
• Demonstrated ability to collect, interpret, analyze data, and translate into meaningful information
Education
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required
• Master’s Degree in Healthcare - preferred
License and Certifications
• Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License. If Compact License Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire
