    Description

    We are seeking experienced Seasonal Tax Preparers to support a high-volume CPA firm in San Jose for the upcoming 2025 tax season. This role is fully onsite and ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and have hands-on experience preparing a variety of tax returns.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Prepare individual (1040) and business tax returns (1120, 1120S, 1065, etc.)

    + Review financial information, supporting documents, and prior-year returns for accuracy and completeness

    + Identify potential tax credits and deductions to minimize client liability

    + Communicate with clients to gather missing information or clarify discrepancies

    + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations

    + Assist with extensions, amendments, and other seasonal tax tasks as needed

    + Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    + 1+ years of recent tax preparation experience, preferably within a CPA firm or tax environment

    + Strong knowledge of federal and California tax laws

    + Experience with tax software (e.g., Lacerte, ProSeries, Drake, UltraTax, or similar)

    + Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines

    + Strong communication and client-interaction skills

    + Ability to work onsite Monday–Friday throughout the entire tax season (January–April)

     

    Preferred Skills

     

    + Experience with multi-state tax returns

    + Prior experience in high-volume environments

    + Familiarity with bookkeeping or basic accounting support
