Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This is a Contract position ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance. The role requires strong expertise in accounting processes and a commitment to maintaining organized and efficient workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial accuracy.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support monthly and annual reporting.

• Review financial transactions to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

• Perform account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Contribute to the successful implementation of new accounting systems and procedures.

• Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.

• Provide support for additional accounting tasks as needed. Requirements • Proven experience with journal entries and general ledger maintenance.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate within a team environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
