Job Description
We are seeking a skilled plumber to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems including PEX, PVC, CPVC, stainless steel, copper, and compression fittings. The role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and plumbing codes to ensure proper installation methods. You will diagnose and troubleshoot plumbing issues, test systems for leaks, and perform backflow prevention, pipe insulation, and heat-tracing applications. The position also requires routine inspections of plumbing infrastructure and recommendations for improvements or preventive repairs.
Responsibilities
+ Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as skid steer, front loader, trencher, and bulldozer for plumbing-related excavation and facility support.
+ Assist with general facility maintenance tasks including carpentry, drywall patching, painting, surface maintenance, groundskeeping, and minor structural repair.
+ Support other trades and special facility projects as needed.
+ Collaborate effectively with internal departments, vendors, and contractors to support operational goals.
+ Ensure work is performed in compliance with local plumbing codes and safety regulations.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
+ Organized and proactive with attention to detail and safety.
+ Problem-solver who can support fast-paced environments and evolving priorities.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum 4–5 years of plumbing experience, preferably in an industrial or commercial setting.
+ Near-journeyman level or actively working toward journeyman licensure.
+ Working knowledge of plumbing codes, schematics, and safety practices.
+ Ability to lift and move heavy objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
+ Experience operating hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset.
+ Ability to operate machinery such as forklift, scissor lift, bulldozer, skid steer, etc.
+ Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is a plus.
+ Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, and in confined spaces.
+ Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and respond to emergency facility issues.
+ Familiarity with septic or lift station systems.
+ Experience with process gas piping or high-purity systems.
+ Excellent communication and teamwork across trades (electrical, mechanical, HVAC).

Work Environment
This is a first shift opportunity, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with the potential for overtime during the week and on Saturdays. The position involves a rotating weekly on-call schedule, requiring availability during the second shift or on weekends every 4 to 5 weeks. Work will primarily take place inside various buildings, with some outdoor system maintenance required. Collaborate with a Team Lead and Supervisor at our Rocket Ranch site.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bertram, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
