*Job Description:*Summary:
Assists technical staff in preparing specimens and equipment for patient testing.Maintains proper inventory of reagents and control materials. Performs clericalfunctions associated with accessioning, result reporting, referred testing and customerservice. Responsible for the handling, processing and disposition of referral laboratory
Responsibilities:
1.Performs all duties of a Laboratory Technical Aide I.
2.Assists the supervisor with the training of laboratory personnel.
3.Prepares specimens for dispatch to reference laboratory, monitors send out pending test list, and enters results into the LIS as applicable. Scans referral laboratory results in the LIS when applicable.
4.Assists Supervisor with retrieval/collation of data required for Performance Improvement reports.
5.Communicates well with other staff members to ensure excellent customer service and appropriate follow-up.
6.Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
7.Performs other duties as assigned.
Other Information:
Requires a minimum formal education of High School Diploma and minimum of three years job-related experience. Customer service and organizational skills.
Criteria Desired (Not Required): Associate's Degree preferred.
Working Conditions:
Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity
Occupational: Some occupational risk
Physical Effort: Medium to Heavy effort. May exert up to 35 lbs. force
Physical Environment: Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.
