Job Title: Capital Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Capital Project Manager to lead and coordinate capital projects while managing financial activities for plant fund accounts. This role includes overseeing project numbers, monitoring expenses, and ensuring accurate coding for all projects. The position requires close collaboration with campus presidents and the Facilities and Planning department to drive the successful execution and reporting of capital improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain accurate project numbers and track all related expenses.
+ Verify proper project coding and monitor plant fund account activity.
+ Process and validate plant fund budget transfers and reallocations.
+ Collaborate with campus presidents on capital improvement fund items and projects.
+ Approve and monitor expenses for capital improvement projects and purchases.
+ Close out capital improvement projects and purchases at fiscal year-end.
+ Prepare monthly reports, including state reporting as required.
+ Monitor plant fund budgets and conduct monthly meetings with the Facilities and Planning department and CFO.
+ Develop annual plant fund budgets and manage business assets and associated expenses.
+ Perform ad-hoc reporting and maintain depreciation schedules.
+ Provide audit documentation and approve requisitions for projects and business assets.
+ Reconcile plant fund accounts and research transactions as needed.
+ Complete year-end reporting in compliance with institutional requirements.
Essential Skills
+ Demonstrated expertise in capital asset and capital project management.
+ Strong accounting knowledge, including general ledger maintenance and month-end closing processes.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
+ Proven experience in managing capital projects and assets from initiation through completion.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience collaborating with Facilities and Construction teams is preferred.
+ Prior management experience is a plus, though not required; the role includes supervising one team member.
+ Strong interest in career growth and professional development.
Work Environment
This position is fully on-site at our Tampa, FL office and offers a contract-to-hire opportunity with room for professional growth. The role begins with a 37.5-hour workweek and has the potential to transition into a salaried permanent position.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.49 - $32.49/hr.
