    Level 2 Technician – Onsite, Long-Term Contract

     

    Shift differential for nights

     

    Schedule: All shifts available (A/B Days & Nights) on a 3x4x12 rotation

     

    + A Side Days: Sunday–Tuesday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM–6 PM

    + A Side Nights: Same days, 6 PM–6 AM

    + B Side Days: Thursday–Saturday & every other Wednesday, 6 AM–6 PM

    + B Side Nights: Same days, 6 PM–6 AM

    Job Brief

    We are seeking a skilled Level 2 Data Center Technician for a long-term onsite role. This position involves supporting data center operations, troubleshooting hardware issues, performing server installations, and ensuring continuous network availability. Candidates should have a strong understanding of network infrastructure, server deployment, cabling standards, and GPU installation.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform Level 1 tasks as needed:

    + Move, inspect, and install servers and switches.

    + Cable devices according to provided wire maps and standards.

    + Install additional components (NIC, drives, memory).

    + Audit servers and consumables.

    + Troubleshoot server issues and isolate problems.

    + Order and replace defective parts; return faulty components to vendors.

    + Update server firmware and configure IP addresses.

    + Assist network admins with cabling, optics replacement, and hardware upgrades.

    + Rack and stack servers or switches for remote configuration.

    + Deploy and configure GPUs in servers.

    + Perform break-fix tasks and component replacements.

    Requirements

    + High school diploma or equivalent.

    + Basic knowledge of computer hardware and servers.

    + Familiarity with standard office applications.

    + Ability to work non-standard hours, including weekends and holidays.

    + Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs, climb ladders, and wear PPE.

    Preferred Skills & Certifications

    + CompTIA A+, Server+, CCENT (or equivalent experience).

    + CCNA

    + Experience with Windows OS, scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).

    + Structured cabling, rack & stack, fiber/copper termination.

    + Familiarity with ITIL framework and ticketing systems.

    + Understanding of network fundamentals (OSI Layers 1–3).

     

    Focus: GPU cluster deployments within Mt. Pleasant facilities.

     

    Experience Level: Entry Level to Mid-Level

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $28.00/hr.
