    Job Description

    About the role

Takeda’s Los Angeles facility specializes in fractionation and purification of human plasma to produce life-saving therapies. Over seven decades, the site has expanded and modernized to ensure a reliable supply of treatments for patients worldwide. To maintain this commitment, Takeda continuously executes projects that enhance manufacturing and auxiliary processes—both locally and across the global organization.

As a Project Manager, you will provide business and technical leadership for projects of small to medium complexity. You will be accountable for overall project performance, including planning and execution, resource management, and financial oversight. Acting as a key liaison between senior management, stakeholders, and project teams, you will ensure alignment with strategic objectives and successful delivery.

    How you will contribute

+ **Define and Drive Strategy:** Provide clear direction on product development requirements to meet customer and stakeholder expectations.

+ **Lead Project Execution:** Establish project strategies, set goals, assign tasks, and ensure timely achievement of objectives.

+ **Manage Scope and Resources:** Oversee project scope, schedules, risk management, resource alignment, and financial analysis.

+ **Communicate Effectively:** Deliver regular status updates to all levels of management and maintain transparency throughout the project lifecycle.

+ **Ensure Quality Deliverables:** Develop and manage team outputs required for successful project completion, integrating change management for sustained operations post-launch.

+ **Provide Technical Expertise:** Support all phases of the project—from product and process development through execution and transition into manufacturing.

+ **Resolve Challenges:** Anticipate and address conflicts to achieve win-win outcomes and maintain project momentum.

+ **Oversee End-to-End Requirements:** Manage engineering design, equipment evaluation and procurement, contractor selection, and coordination of all resources for seamless execution and handover to manufacturing.

    What you bring to Takeda

+ Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field with a minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience. Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment within a pharmaceutical company strongly preferred.

+ **Project Management Expertise:** Proficient in project management tools with a solid understanding of related disciplines; PMP certification preferred.

+ **Regulatory Knowledge:** Familiarity with GMP principles, FDA guidelines, and purchasing practices.

+ **Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:** Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills; able to analyze and resolve complex challenges through innovative thinking and experience.

+ **Cross-Functional Leadership:** Ability to manage multiple teams and projects simultaneously, including initiatives outside your core area of expertise.

+ **Strategic & Financial Acumen:** Demonstrated strategic leadership, sound financial judgment, and effective supervisory skills.

+ **Communication Excellence:** Skilled in conveying information clearly and effectively through diverse communication methods.

+ **Flexibility:** Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed to oversee critical project activities.

    Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

+ Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.

+ Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.

+ Work in a cold, wet environment.

+ Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.

+ Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.

+ Facilitate on shift delivery of training as needed (non-routine).

+ Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.

    Where You Will Be

At our Los Angeles manufacturing site, we’re united by a powerful purpose: producing life-changing plasma-derived therapies for individuals living with rare, chronic, and genetic conditions such as immunodeficiencies.
