Job Description
A client in Chandler, AZ is looking to bring on a RF Test Automation Engineer to join their team. This individual will be responsible for collaborate across Engineering teams to bring advanced Satellite Communication products to market. Throughout their day-to-day, this individual will be responsible for automating verification and validation testing and ensuring engineering designs meet product specifications prior to marker release.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing test plans, procedures, test automation and performing validation testing on satellite communication equipment such as Solid-State Amplifiers (SSPA’s), Multi-Band Transceivers, and Block Up-Converters (BUC’s) across C, X, Ku and Ka bands
- Ability to take system, hardware and software level requirements and develop verification test procedures.
- Ability to create, interpret, modify programming source code in multiple languages such as Python, C++ and LabVIEW for automated test software.
- Supports Integration and Test, Design Verification, First Article and Production test.
- Ability to troubleshoot moderate to complex satellite communication equipment and firmware.
- Responsible for testing advanced product features and test methods to include but not limited to the following:
- Ability to develop and automate RF calibration routines.
- Experience with RF test methods and developing test automation for:
Frequency Response, Gain Flatness and Stability, P1-dB Compression, Third Order Intermodulation, Harmonics and Spurious Emissions, Noise Figure, Phase Noise, Error Vector Magnitude (EVM)
- Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.

Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5 to 10 + years of experience in utilizing test equipment and software, including Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Phase Noise Analyzers, Signal Source Analyzers, and Signal Generators.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in programming in Python preferred - Understanding of modern satellite communications and RF engineering.
- Experience automating test equipment over remote GPIB, Ethernet, RS-232 and SNMP.
- Experience with RF related test equipment.
- Experience with RF calibration automaton.
