    Lead Workforce Innovation as Assistant Vice President, Employer Partnerships & Workforce Development at CWI!

The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Employer Partnerships & Workforce Development to drive strategic initiatives that empower students and strengthen Idaho’s workforce.

    Strategic Leadership with Purpose:

    + Develop and execute a comprehensive workforce development strategy aligned with CWI’s mission and regional economic priorities

    + Advise the Vice President of Strategy & Operations on labor market trends and employability outcomes

    + Lead Workforce Development operations, staff, and programs with a focus on innovation and responsiveness

    + Oversee budgeting, enrollment growth, and market expansion

    + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local workforce regulations

    Building Employer Partnerships:

    + Cultivate strategic relationships with employers, industry groups, government agencies, and economic development organizations

    + Align academic and technical programs with industry needs to ensure graduate readiness

    + Represent CWI on workforce boards and regional/state initiatives

    + Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate employer engagement

    Driving Innovation in Workforce Programs:

    + Lead the design and expansion of non-credit training, apprenticeships, and custom employer solutions

    + Pursue funding opportunities through grants and partnerships

    + Foster a culture of agility and innovation in response to evolving workforce demands

    + Oversee Directors of Workforce Development Programs across multiple sectors

    What We’re Looking For:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or related field

    + 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in workforce development or higher education

    + Proven success in building and sustaining industry partnerships

    + Deep understanding of CWI’s mission and commitment to accessibility and employability

    + Strong communication, collaboration, and change management skills

    + Ability to foster a student-centered, equity-focused environment

    Additional Instructions For Applicants:

    Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
