JOB SUMMARY:

The Sensory Technician is responsible for the coordination, organization and maintenance of the Sensory Lab, and for administrating expert sensory panels and sensory activities. The Sensory Technician creates a safe and efficient workspace and is the main point of contact for Sensory Panel Assistants during expert sensory panels.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure lab cleanliness and compliance to all relevant Nestle standards and required documentation

• Maintain well organized lab and storage spaces using 5S principles

• Ensure Sensory equipment is maintained and calibrated

• Maintain inventory of Sensory Lab materials and supplies

• Manage sensory product receipt, storage and inventory

• Assist Panel Leaders with sensory test creation in sensory software and launch IT sensory sessions

• Administer sensory tests, including sample preparation and presentation

• Communicate panel instructions to Sensory Panel Assistants before, during, and after experts sensory panels

• Assist Consumer Sensory Insight Specialists and Panel Leaders with sensory training, sensory glossary development, panelist screening, and other sensory related activities as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, and Knowledge):

• High School degree required, technical training preferred

• Experience in laboratory is preferred either in a classroom or work environment

• Software knowledge: EyeQuestion, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Strong computer skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Able to work well in a team environment

• Flexible work hours, as required by the business

• A collaborative attitude, enjoys working with, learning from and sharing knowledge with others
