    Registrar Generalist

    Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):

    Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two (2) years of full-time experience working in an office setting or customer service-related field. (Student employment experience may be considered). Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office products (i.e. Excel,Word, etc.), Google Apps (or related).

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience working in a student services-related department for a university or college. Experience working in the Registrar's Office or Enrollment Services. Experience with student enrollment systems (i.e. PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.).

    Brief Description of Duties:

    Assist and support the Registrar’s Office by providing administrative, operational, and customer service support across all functional areas, including enrollment, records, graduation, transcript processing, and general office operations. The position will work closely with students, faculty, staff, and campus partners to ensure accurate information, timely processing, and effective communication. The role requires a proactive, organized individual who can multitask in a fast-paced environment, resolve day-to-day operational issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of office processes.

     

    The candidate should possess outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills along with strategic and analytical thinking skills with an ability to solve problems. Experience successfully working independently, as well as part of a team with a collaborative approach to problem solving. The ability to work with diverse constituents including faculty, staff, and students plays a key part in this role. The candidate will need to effectively multitask in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment with a high degree of accuracy.

    Duties:

    Registrar Support

    + Provide generalist support across all registrar functions, including course registration, records maintenance and student service operations.

    + Provide front-line support across all core functions of the Registrar's Office.

    + Respond to inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and ensure timely follow-up. Use strong problem-solving skills to interpret policies & procedures to respond to student inquiries for resolution.

    + Support the flow of communication within the office and between campus partners.

    + Maintain strong relationships with department colleagues across campus to ensure changes to departments' policies and procedures are communicated timely and efficiently.

    Registrar Generalist:

    + Support daily operations including enrollment, registration, schedule adjustments, graduation processing, transcript production, and orientation participation.

    + Maintain and update student records and official documents within student information systems.

    + Deliver exemplary service to all university locations, including SUNY Korea, Southampton, East Campus, Manhattan, and any future campus locations.

    + Demonstrate working knowledge of policies and procedures across key university units.

    + Provide assistance to students' inquiries by assessing their needs and interpreting policy and procedures to best help or direct the student.

    + Assist students with the process of addressing challenges and solving problems that can arise with student registrar related issues (holds, etc.). Make recommendations to students to help resolve problems which may include interacting with other offices across campus.

    + Build and create strong knowledge of the following areas:

    + CEAS (College of Engineering and Applied Sciences

    + Financial Aid

    * Graduate School

    + SPD (School of Professional Development)

    + Admissions

    + Bursar and Student Accounts

    + Apply federal, state and institutional regulations appropriately in daily operations.

    + Identify and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency and service delivery.

    + Proactively seek opportunities to enhance student experience and streamline registrar processes **.**

    Team & Institutional Support:

    + Participate in office projects, cross-training initiatives, and peak-period support (e.g., registration, graduation, start of term).

    + Attend training sessions, departmental meetings, and University events as assigned.

    + Support the mission, goals, and objectives of the Division of Enrollment and Retention Management.

    **Other duties or projects** as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission.

    Special Notes:

    This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Non-Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.

     

    In addition to the employee's base salary, this position is eligible for $4000 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
