    Manager, Employee Relations

     

    The hiring range for this position is 102k - 115k.

    Position Summary:

    The Employee Relations Manager leads a team that handles investigations, performance coaching, leave and accommodation, and conflict resolution. This role sets clear standards and processes, ensures legal and policy compliance, and guides the team through complex workplace issues. The manager works with other departments to improve processes, supports company goals, and helps create a positive, collaborative work culture. They also analyze workplace trends, coach managers, and provide training to strengthen relationships and resolve conflicts.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    + Responsible for 5+ direct reports. Provide day-to-day management, guidance, and development to a team responsible for investigations, performance coaching, leave and accommodation processes, and conflict resolution.

    + Establish clear protocols, templates, and standards for employee relations activities to enhance consistency, transparency, and risk mitigation.

    + Ensures compliance with employment laws and internal policies in all employee relations cases, working closely with legal advisors as needed.

    + Oversees the continuous improvement of the case management system, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and effective documentation of all employee relations activities.

    + Identifies, develops, and implements improvements in employee relations processes and policies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

    + Translate and implement strategic initiatives from senior management, driving the adoption of new processes and practices across the team.

    + Integrate cross-functional perspectives to drive shared outcomes and seamless employee experiences.

    + Cultivates a collaborative and high-performing team culture that aligns with the organization's mission and values.

    + Acts as a primary resource for complex employee relations matters, providing guidance and support team in addressing workplace issues, conflict resolution, and policy interpretation.

    + Analyzes employee relations trends to identify root causes of workplace issues and works with leadership and Transformation Office to implement solutions that support retention, engagement, and workplace satisfaction.

    + Facilitates training to managers and employees to improve workplace relationships, enhance team dynamics, and build conflict resolution skills.

    Qualifications and Education Requirements:

    + Bachelor's degree preferred in Human Resources Management

    + 5+ years of experience in a Human Resources role

    + 3 years of experiences in a leadership role

     

    All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
