    Come join a company that strives for _Extraordinary People and Exceptional Performance_ ! **Chenega Enterprise Systems & Solutions, LLC,** a **Chenega Professional Services** ’ company, is looking for an experienced **Scientific Data Analyst I** to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion (DHQP), and the Clinical and Environmental Microbiology Branch (CEMB). This person will review, analyze and evaluate written material, statistical data and a variety of other information. The **Scientific Data Analyst I** will use qualitative and quantitative methods to assess progress toward program goals while revising and developing curricula for written and audiovisual teaching materials.

    Responsibilities

    + Apply data management and analytic expertise to work with various administrative and other data sources, including but not limited to electronic healthcare data across healthcare settings.

    + Work closely with the National Notifiable Diseases Surveillance System (NNDSS).

    + Create and submit well-formatted and documented code in languages and platforms (SAS, Decipher, Spark, R and/or SQL) to conduct quality control and manipulation of data systems including merging, managing, and updating data; generating standard reports and analytical data files; performing data quality reviews; data editing/cleaning; and resolving data quality problems.

    + Create and submit SAS code, R code, or code in other languages as needed to conduct statistical and epidemiological analyses in support of CDC scientists including frequency analyses, 2X2 analyses, and multivariable regression models.

    + Facilitate programming and data management for analyses, leading to scientific publications. Prepare tables and charts for presentations and publications.

    + Summarize data and findings and present at meetings (internal and external).

    + Develop data dictionaries and data management documents for studies working in conjunction with principal investigators.

    + Apply analytic expertise to aid new acquisitions and renewals of various administrative data sources by developing data request packages, data use agreements, and scientific research approvals (e.g., through institutional review boards.

    + Communicate with internal and external project leaders and partners and respond to requests for assistance.

    + Provide technical assistance on HL7 messaging of public health laboratory informatic system to send AR Lab Network.

    + Provide technical assistance on HL7 messaging of state surveillance system to send to CDC.

    + Develop and maintain project and product databases, SharePoint sites. Teams, and other approaches (including data visualization tools, where appropriate) to facilitating communication internally and with partners.

    + Participate with scientists and program consultants in various aspects of project development and evaluation. Activities may include conducting a search or review of the existing literature and preparing and/or presenting summaries for a variety of purposes.

    + Participate in meetings, conferences, and 1-2 site visits to ensure communication and standardization of the interpretation of protocols.

    + Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + Experience of supporting jurisdiction informatics transitions, working with external partners (APHL, CSTE, state other CDC groups).

    + Understanding of gram-negative bacteria.

    + Understanding of carbapemase genes and testing.

    + One (1) to Two (2) or more years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience.

    + Completed Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience to substitute.

    _Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_

    + Professional working knowledge within SharePoint.

    + Professional interpersonal and computer skills, to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint.

    + Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices.

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written).

    + Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports.
